ANN ENGELS is de drijvende kracht achter CaraMuse Muziekmanagement.
Met jaren ervaring als professioneel celliste bij verschillende orkesten en met talrijke referenties als muzikaal consultant is zij bij uitstek de sleutel om uw concert, project of evenement tot een groot succes te maken.
Na een Latijn-Griekse humaniora, kandidaturen vertaler-tolk, een conservatoriumopleiding en heel wat jaren concertpodium werd Ann Engels in 2000 impresario. Vanuit haar rijke ervaring voelt zij als geen ander de behoeftes van musici en organisatoren zodat zij voor velen de gedroomde consultant is geworden. Het Fidelio Strijkkwartet is een unicum in het Belgische landschap der strijkkwartetten dankzij haar repertoire dat puur klassiek maar bijvoorbeeld ook jazz, ragtime, filmmuziek, tango, Oosterse of Caribische muziek omvat. Dankzij eigen muziekarrangementen heeft het een zeer groot en uniek repertoire opgebouwd.
Voor het uitwerken van haar muzikale producties kiest Fidelio zorgvuldig haar partners en solisten uit. De afgelopen jaren werkte het onder meer samen met Greet De Keyser, Warre Borgmans, Hilde Van Mieghem, Marc Matthys en Sylvia Broeckaert.
Het Fidelio Strijkkwartet nam de muziek op voor beide films van Hilde Van Mieghem met muziek van Bert Joris. Ook maakte het opnames voor diverse reclamefilms.
Het speelde op zowat alle mooie locaties in de Benelux, voor concertorganisatoren, festivals, en toonaangevende bedrijven.

Feliciteer zeker ook de mensen van Fidelio. Je ziet (en hoort) niet zo vaak "klassieke muzikanten" die uit hun pantser durven komen. Het was echt heel, heel knap. Mozart lag hier thuis al in de bovenste schuif, hij gaat nu nog een trapje hoger ;-)

GEDREVENHEID BEGEESTERING VIRTUOSITEIT
Een concert met violiste Katarina Bassez is een genot voor oog en oor. Met haar diepgaande, warme sonoriteit, haar ongeëvenaarde expressie en temperamentvolle, aanstekelijke speellust dringt zij tot in de diepste kern van elk werk door. Als muziekliefhebber word je bij het aanhoren van zoveel passie, kunde en creativiteit, stil en enthousiast tegelijk. Katarina Bassez wordt door de internationale pers geprezen voor haar virtuositeit en warme toon.
Zij was prijswinnaar van het Concours Charles de Bériot in Brussel. Zij studeerde bij Henry Raudales, Professor Yfrah Neaman en Sir Yehudi Menuhin. Als soliste trad zij op in Europa en Latijns-Amerika. Zij speelde Paganini in een videoclip voor „BMW Mind Forms“ in München. Ze verleende haar medewerking aan opnames voor de Bayerischer Rundfunk.
Samen met Henry Raudales richtte zij in 2006 het kamerorkest Enkabara waarmee zij als soliste optreedt. Sinds 2008 speelt zij concerten begeleid door haar eigen ensemble: een strijkkwartet gevormd door topmusici die elk afzonderlijk een rijke ervaring hebben opgedaan in kamermuziekensembles in binnen-en buitenland. Met dit ensemble bracht zij in juni 2009 een cd uit met werken van o.a. Bruch, Bloch, Paganini en Enescu.
Katarina Bassez bespeelt een Nicolò Amati uit 1665.
Een buitengewone instrumentale combinatie – cello en accordeon/bandoneon- en 2 gepassioneerde musici - Ann Engels en Jacques Pellarin- die verrassen met een origineel, speels, dan weer melancholisch en warm geluid, met virtuoze uitschieters, jazzy solo’s en een subtiele dialoog tussen beide instrumenten van melodie naar harmonie.
Beide musici kiezen voor een niet-klassiek repertoire (ondanks hun klassieke roots), dat onder meer uit eigen composities bestaat, maar ook bijvoorbeeld met werk van A. Piazzolla.
Het gevoel dat het repertoire oproept is voor hen belangrijker dan een label opgekleefd krijgen van één of andere stijl.Een eerste muzikale ontmoeting van Ann Engels en Jacques Pellarin in de Savoie in Frankrijk had na korte tijd reeds een aantal concerten in Nederland en België tot gevolg.
Het Duo Ann Engels – Jacques Pellarin hoopt in de nabije toekomst een 1e CD op te nemen.

Zij verzamelden topmusici om zich heen, die elk afzonderlijk een rijke ervaring hebben opgedaan als solist of in kamermuziek-ensembles in binnen - en buitenland.
Virtuoos samenspel, ragfijne techniek, zuivere stijl, expressieve sound, gedurfde interpretatie, spontane creativiteit en het overduidelijke plezier van het samen-musiceren zijn de kenmerken van dit opmerkelijke ensemble die steeds weer worden geprezen.
Onder leiding van vioolvirtuoos Henry Raudales (laureaat internationale Koningin Elisabeth Wedstrijd) brengt Camerata Enkabara werken van Barok tot o.a. Astor Piazzolla, waarbij de interpretatie en stilistische uitvoering van elk werk wordt aangepast aan de specifieke historische periode.
Naargelang gelegenheid en repertorium wordt het ensemble aangevuld met blazers, accordeon, gitaar, piano enz. Zo worden er op een creatieve manier, fascinerende concerten gespeeld in verschillende formaties.
Camerata Enkabara concerteert wereldwijd op een dynamische en non-conformistische wijze. Het engagement, de intensiteit en bezieling bij het musiceren zorgen ervoor dat elk concert van dit ensemble een unieke belevenis wordt.

Stijlvol, gracieus
Lin Chin Cheng won de “4th European Soloist Competition in Birmingham 2007” en behaalde drie awards: Europees Solist 2007, beste Uitvoering Prijs en beste marimba speler prijs. Lin werd op 19 jarige leeftijd laureaat van de prestigieuze “International Marimba Competition Belgium 2004” en ontvangt hierdoor internationale erkenning. Geprezen voor zijn uitzonderlijke muzikaliteit en prestatie op zulke jonge leeftijd werd hem de ‘Jong talent’ prijs toegekend. Tijdens zijn studie van viool & piano legde hij zich toe op marimba & percussie en studeerde hij in Taiwan en Australië. Momenteel vervolmaakt hij zich bij marimbavirtuoos Ludwig Albert in België. Daar hij zijn muzikale reis startte van Taiwan naar Australië en vervolgens België, verzorgde hij verscheidene concerten in Australië en concerteerde hij voor Culturele uitwisseling met China en Singapore Groep. Hij speelde zijn eerste debuut recital in Taipei 2002 en richtte twee percussie groepen op die zich specialiseerde in Hedendaagse percussie muziek: Brisbane PERCUSSSONIC trio en TRAFFIC percussie kwartet. In juli nam hij deel aan een tournee in Queensland met het Queensland Conservatorium Symfonie orkest en was hij lid van de ‘BA-DA Boom’ percussiegroep en het percussie duo Karak. In 2003 was hij uitgenodigd voor een concert tijdens het Australische Percussie Symposium 2003. Hij ontving in 2006 ook de ‘Culture Outstanding Award’ tijdens het Taiwanese Artiesten Festival 2006. Lin won de derde prijs en de jong talent prijs van de internationale marimba competitie in België 2004, de tweede prijs solo marimba en de eerste prijs duo marimba in APS& E 2003 en de eerste prijs solo marimba en de jong aanmoediging prijs op de ‘Australian Percussion Eisteddfod 2002’.
In 2007 verzorgde hij internationaal concerten in Kroatië, Slovenië, België, Rusland, Duitsland, Australië, Argentinië, Nederland, Taiwan, Spanje en USA. Zijn eerste solo album en gesigneerde stokkenlijn worden uitgebracht tijdens augustus 2007. Tijdens 2004-2006 verzorgde Lin zijn jaarlijks solo recital en was hij uitgenodigd voor concerten tijdens de: “Academische opening "Proloog"-Koninklijk Vlaams Muziekconservatorium Antwerpen, de internationale productie “Oriënt Express”, Festival der Voorkempen, Festival de Nachten, Belgische en Nederlandse percussiedagen, het 6de internationale Marimba Festival in Chiapas- Mexico, het 7de internationale Percussie Festival in Valencia, Spanje, de ‘Occidental and Chinese music Taiwanese Culture Office’ in Brussel en de percussie cursus in La Corunna.
Momenteel is Lin concert artiest van Marimba Projects in België and New Art Inc. in Taiwan en vertegenwoordigt hij als endorser en actief jong concert marimbist ‘Adams marimba’, en ‘Resta mallets Frankrijk’.

De muzikale rode draad doorheen dit programma zijn de strijkkwartetten van W.A. Mozart, gespeeld door het FIDELIO STRIJKKWARTET. We horen zijn composities evolueren onder invloed van zijn vriend en grote voorbeeld Joseph Haydn. Natuurlijk zit er meer dan één komische noot in het programma. WARRE BORGMANS vertelt op zijn niet te evenaren manier en toont zijn tot op heden verborgen muzikale talenten. Hij brengt anekdotes, grote en kleine verhalen, brieven en poëzie, vader-zoon relaties.
Bij “Cross-over!” staat steeds één componist centraal. MARC MATTHYS en het FIDELIO STRIJKKWARTET brengen een fascinerende cross-over van klassiek, jazz, filmmuziek en chanson. Een feilloze overgang van het ene genre naar het andere met respect voor de originele werken. Marc Matthys en het Fidelio Strijkkwartet kunnen nog vervoegd worden door MARC ROOSENDANS, bas en TONY GHYSELINCK, drums: kortom: Een combinatie van schitterende musici met een wereldwijd verzamelde muzikale bagage. Tot op heden is er keuze uit 2 cross-overs: - “Cross-over Mozart”: met: muziek van Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Matthys, Toots Thielemans 'Mozart 2006 con anima', het in de KLARA componistenwedstrijd bekroonde pianotrio, wordt uitgevoerd door ondermeer de schepper van het werk, Marc Matthys. Ook meesters zoals Vivaldi en Bach, componisten die Mozart zelf erg bewonderde, lenen hun muziek aan deze productie. - "Cross-over Gershwin": Gershwin vormt hier de rode draad voor klassiek en jazz die feilloos in elkaar overlopen. Een ontmoeting tussen Amerikaanse componisten en hun Europese tijdgenoten, Gershwin en ondermeer Ravel. Natuurlijk duikt Porgy and Bess op, maar er worden ook parallellen getrokken met Cole Porter en tijdgenoten in Zuid-Amerika zoals Piazzolla. Een brede waaier van afwisselende muziek, van solo tot tutti, met achtergrondinfo die de tijdsgeest schetst.
In dit jaaroverzicht ligt de nadruk uiteraard op Amerika, vanuit de "great eyes" (dixit president Bush) van GREET DE KEYSER, die nog steeds in Washington woont. Als geen ander trekt zij parallellen met België of licht ze verschillen toe. En hoe kijkt een Amerikaan naar een landje als België? In de aanloopperiode naar de komende presidentsverkiezingen krijgt u ook alvast interessante informatie mee. En om de hersenen op tijd en stond terug te laten afkoelen van de vele feiten, brengt het FIDELIO STRIJKKWARTET samen met pianist MARC MATTHYS een prachtig Amerikaans programma waarin Scott Joplin, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington centraal staan. Een cross-over van klassiek, ragtime, jazz, Broadway en film.
De internationaal gewaardeerde Belgische sopraan ANNE CAMBIER brengt werk van Mozart, samen met het FIDELIO STRIJKKWARTET. In dit 'Mozart Diner Concert' komen pareltjes uit het oeuvre van W.A. Mozart aan bod. Tussen de verschillende gangen van het menu door luistert u naar onder andere naar een Divertimento, een strijkkwartet en meeslepende aria's uit de opera's Die Zauberflöte en Don Giovanni. Variaties hierop met andere componisten kunnen ook.
XUE WEN GAO ontmoet het FIDELIO STRIJKKWARTET. East meets West. Een “gelukkige” smeltkroes van klanken en snaren uit het Verre Oosten en uit ons meer vertrouwde West-Europa, waarbij het geheel meer is dan de som der delen. De erhu, een tweesnarige viool die op dij steunt, is een traditioneel Chinees muziekinstrument. Op het programma onder meer traditionele Chinese muziek, een Japans wiegelied, filmmuziek en Westers licht-klassiek. Mooie tonen die uw gevoelige snaar raken.
"Welkom, welkom, beste vrienden..." Reeds van bij het onthaal wanen de genodigden zich ten huize van Chopin en Sand. Professionele acteurs kruipen in hun huid en vertellen over hun liefde, hun werk, hun vrienden en leven. Uiteraard siert een mooie vleugel het pand en bespeeld door een vermaard pianist komen de mooiste werken van Chopin tot leven in dit salon.

ANN ENGELS est la force motrice derrière CaraMuse.
Forte de ces années d'expérience professionnelle en tant que violoncelliste dans de différents orchestres et de ses nombreuses références comme conseillère musicale, elle vous garantit le succès de votre concert, votre événement, votre projet.
Ann Engels devint agente en 2000. Grâce à son expérience professionnelle elle connaît comme nul autre les besoins des musiciens et des organisateurs, ce qui fait d’elle l’intermédiaire rêvée.
Elle obtint ses premiers prix de violoncelle et de musique de chambre à Bruxelles et à Gand (Belgique) sous Edmond Baert, Xue Wen Gao et France Springuel. Par la suite elle se perfectionna dans des masterclasses auprès de Michael Flaksman à Schaffhausen (Suisse) et Stuttgart (Allemagne).
Ann Engels obtint plusieurs bourses d’étude pour des projets à Groznan (Kroatie) et à Bayreuth (Allemagne)
Elle fut violoncelliste solo dans plusieurs orchestres, et violoncelliste indépendante avec la Filharmonie, l’Orchestre de l'Opera Flamand, le Symphonic Factory, Caravelli et son grand Orchestre.
Aujourd’hui, elle fait partie des ensembles suivants : le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio (musique classique et légère) ; le Duo Tête-à-Tête (violon – violoncelle) ; la Camerata Enkabara (orchestre de chambre du virtuose Henry Raudales) ; Brise l’Ame ( musique de chambre intimiste, genre folk du monde )
Ann Engels a beaucoup joué à l’étranger, notamment avec l'Orchestre de Chambre d'Anvers, Il Novecento, Caravelli, ‘Elvis, The Concert’, la Filharmonie, l'Orchestre de Chambre Reichenbrunn, Cellovation, etc.

Ses arrangements propres ont permis au quatuor de constituer un répertoire aussi varié qu’original.
Pour réaliser ses projets musicaux, Fidelio attache une très grande importance au choix de ses partenaires et de ses solistes. Ces dernières années le quatuor a collaboré notamment avec Greet De Keyser, Warre Borgmans, Hilde Van Mieghem, Marc Matthys et Sylvia Broeckaert.
Le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio a enregistré la musique de Bert Joris pour les deux films de Hilde Van Mieghem. Il a également fait des enregistrements pour plusieurs films publicitaires.
Le Quatuor Fidelio s’est produit dans les plus beaux lieux du Benelux lors de concerts et de festivals, et pour bon nombre de grandes entreprises.
Passion, fugue, virtuosité.
Un concert avec la violoniste Katarina Bassez est une véritable fête, aussi bien pour l’œil que pour l’oreille. Sa sonorité profonde et chaleureuse, son expressivité inégalée et sa joie de jouer envoûtante et pleine de tempérament lui permettent de pénétrer jusqu’au cœur même de chaque œuvre. Qui aime la musique ne peut que se taire et s’enthousiasmer à la fois, face à tant de passion, tant de maîtrise et de force créatrice. La presse internationale est dithyrambique devant la virtuosité et le timbre chaleureux de Katarina Bassez.
Katarina Bassez fut lauréate du Concours Charles de Bériot à Bruxelles. Elle a étudié auprès de Henry Raudales, du professeur Yfrah Neaman et de Sir YEHUDI MENUHIN. Elle s’est produite en solo en Europe ainsi qu’en Amérique Latine. Elle a joué Paganini dans une vidéo publicitaire de ‘BMW Mind Forms’ à Munich. Elle a enregistré pour la Radio Bavaroise avec le Münchner Rundfunkorchester.
En 2006, avec Henry Raudales, elle fonda l’orchestre de chambre Enkabara avec lequel elle se produit en solo. Depuis 2008 elle joue en concert accompagnée par son propre ensemble, un quatuor à cordes constitué de musiciens hautement expérimentés en musique de chambre sur les scènes internationales. C’est avec cet ensemble qu’elle enregistra en juin 2009 un CD avec des œuvres de Bruch, Bloch, Paganini et Enescu.

Le Leitmotiv de ce programme sont les quatuors pour cordes de W.A. Mozart interprétés par le Quatuor Fidelio. Nous entendons comment évoluent ses compositions sous l’influence de son grand ami et mentor, Joseph Haydn. Il va sans dire que le programme contient plus d’une note humoristique. Warre Borgmans est un diseur sans pareil, qui révèle, en outre, ces talents musicaux jusqu’ici latents. Il nous offre des anecdotes, des petites et de grandes histoires, lettres et poésies, et des considérations sur les relations père – fils.
Avec Marc Matthys et le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio. Les productions ‘Crossover!’ sont toujours conçues autour d’un compositeur central. Marc Matthys et le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio vous offrent un fascinant bouillon de classique, jazz, musique de film et chanson. Si besoin est, l’ensemble peut être renforcé par Marc Roosendans, basse, et Tony Ghyselinck, batterie. Bref, un ensemble de musiciens épatants, avec le monde en musique dans leur bagage. Nous vous proposons deux versions de ‘Crossover !’ CROSSOVER MOZART : musique de Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Matthys, Toots Thielemans. Mozart 2006 con anima, le trio pour piano de Marc Matthys qui emporta le prix du concours de composition KLARA, est interprété e. a. par le compositeur lui-même. De grands maîtres tels que Vivaldi et Bach, très admirés par ledit Mozart, prêtent gracieusement leur musique à cette production très charmante. CROSSOVER GERSHWIN : George Gershwin est le fil conducteur qui unit sans faille le jazz et le classique. Une rencontre entre des compositeurs américains et leurs contemporains européens. Gershwin et Ravel par exemple. Bien sûr, vous entendrez Porgy et Bess, mais vous découvrirez également des parallèles entre Cole Porter et ses contemporains latino-américains comme Astor Piazzolla. Un riche éventail de musiques divertissantes, du solo au tutti, avec plein d’information sur le fond pour vous ébaucher l’esprit du temps.
Le journal – revue de l’année, ou un thème précis au choix
Avec Greet De Keyser et le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio

Ce programme se concentre évidemment sur les Etats-Unis, comme vu par les ‘great eyes’ (dixit G.W. Bush) de Greet De Keyser, qui vit depuis longtemps à Washington. Comme nul autre elle sait faire des comparaisons avec la Belgique, ou illustrer les différences. Et comment les Américains regardent-ils un petit pays comme la Belgique ? En plus, Greet De Keyser fera de vous des témoins initiés et avertis des présidentielles de cette année. Pour vous désaltérer après cette avalanche d’informations, le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio et le pianiste Marc Matthys (avec/sans trio de jazz) vous proposent un délicieux programme américain autour de Scott Joplin, Cole Porter et Duke Ellington. Un cocktail appétissant de classique, ragtime, jazz, Broadway et film.
Avec Anne Cambier et le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio
La soprano belge de renommée internationale Anne Cambier et le Quatuor Fidelio se retrouvent autour de Mozart. Ce dîner-concert vous offre des petites perles de l’oeuvre de Mozart. Entre les différents plats vous vous régalez avec un divertimento, un quatuor pour cordes, et les plus beaux airs de La Flûte enchantée et de Don Giovanni.
Cette formule est possible aussi avec d’autres compositeurs.
Avec Xue Wen Gao et le Quatuor à cordes Fidelio
Un ‘heureux’ bouillon de cultures, de sons et de cordes de l’Extrême Orient et de nos contrées plus connues de l’Europe de l’Ouest. Comme toujours, le tout est plus grand que la somme des parties. Le erhu, violon à deux cordes que l’on repose sur la jambe, est un instrument traditionnel de musique en Chine. Le programme contient entre autres de la musique traditionnelle chinoise, une berceuse japonaise, de la musique de film et du classique léger occidental. De beaux sons qui ne manqueront pas de toucher vos cordes sensibles.
‘Entrez, entrez, chers amis…’ Dès leur accueil les gens se sentent comme chez George et Frédéric. Des acteurs professionnels se glissent dans la peau des deux artistes et racontent leur amour, leur travail, leurs amitiés et leur vie. Bien évidemment, un beau piano à queue se trouve dans la pièce, et un pianiste réputé fait revivre les plus belles pièces de Chopin dans ce salon.

Au pavillon norvégien lors de Culinarte, foire culinaire, CaraMuse a proposé un programme autour d’Edvard Grieg. De petites perles, transcrites pour quatuor à cordes.
‘D’ici un siècle, tout sera oublié,’ Grieg aurait dit de sa propre musique. En septembre 2007 nous fêtions le centenaire de la mort du compositeur, mais sa musique est plus actuelle que jamais.

ANN ENGELS is the driving force behind CaraMuse.
Her years of experience as a professional cellist in various orchestras and her many references as musical constant make her the key person to turn your concert, project or event into an overwhelming success.
Ann Engels became a musical agent in 2000. Her rich professional experience allow her to gauge as no other the needs of both the musicians and the organisers, and this makes her the ideal ‘middle-man'. She obtained first prizes for cello and chamber music in Brussels and Ghent (Belgium) with Edmond Baert, Xue Wen Gao and France Springuel, and took master-classes with Michael Flaksman in Schaffhausen (Switzerland) and Stuttgart (Germany). Ann Engels has won scholarships for projects in Grozjnan (Croatia) and Bayreuth (Germany). She has been cello soloist for various orchestras and freelance cellist in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders, the Orchestra of the Flemish Opera, the Symfonic Factory, Caravelli et son grand Orchestre. Nowadays, her regular ensembles are: the Fidelio String Quartet (classic and light music), the Duo Tête-à-Tête (violin and cello), the Camerata Enkabara (chamber orchestra of the violin virtuoso Henry Raudales), and Brise l'Ame (intimist world folk chamber music). Ann Engels has toured the continent with the Anwterp Chamber Orchestra, Il Novecento, Caravelli, ‘Elvis, The Concert’ - part of the World Tour, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders, the Reichenbrunn Chamber Orchestra, Cellovation ..... The Fidelio String Quartet is unique amongst Belgian string quartets in that its repertoire covers not only classical music, but jazz, ragtime, film music, tango, Oriental and Caribbean music into the bargain. They write their own music arrangements, which has allowed them to build up a vast and unique repertoire.For the execution of its musical productions Fidelio chooses its partners and soloists with the utmost care. These last years they have collaborated with Greet De Keyser, Warre Borgmans, Hilde Van Mieghem, Mark Matthys and Sylvia Broeckaert.The Fidelio String Quartet has recorded the scores for both of Hilde Van Mieghem’s films, with music by Bert Joris. They have also recorded scores for several advertisement films. Fidelio has played at concerts and festivals and for a large number of leading enterprises on all the best locations in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg.

A concert by violinist Katarina Bassez is a feast for both the eye and the ear. With her penetrating warm sonority, her unsurpassed expressiveness and her soulful, alluring lust for playing, she touches at the very essence of each piece. No music lover can help becoming entranced and enthused on hearing so much passion, so much art, and so much creativity. The international press praises Katarina Bassez for her virtuoso playing and her warm timbre. Katarina Bassez is laureate of the Brussels Concours Charles Beriot.
She has studied with Henry Raudales, Professor Yfrah Neaman en Sir Yehudi Menuhin. She has performed solo in Europe as well as in Latin America. She played Paganini in a ‘BMW Mind Forms’ video clip set in München, and has recorded for the Bayerische Rundfunk accompanied by the Münchner Rundfunkorchester.
In 2006, with Henry Raudales, she founded the Enkabara Chamber Orchestra with which she performs as a soloist. Since 2008 she is backed by her own ensemble, a string quartet of top musicians, all of them with their own international stage experience in chamber music. It is with this ensemble that she has released a CD with works by Bruch, Bloch, Paganini and Enescu.

Camerata Enkabara is a young Belgian ensemble that was founded in 2006 by violinists Henry Raudales and Katarina Bassez.
This ensemble consists of top musicians, all with rich international experience as soloists , in chambermusic and orchestral playing.
Virtuosity, refined playing, unique style, expressive sound, audatious interpretation, spontaneous creativity and the joy of performing together, are qualities that make this ensemble one of a kind, and have given them international appraisal and recognition.
Henry Raudales conductor soloist (laureat of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition) brings together with Camerata Enkabara a world of different musical periods: from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic period to the music of A. Piazzolla, J. Williams. Adding to this extensive repertory, Henry Raudales' interpretations of all the different compositions are well defined in style, and his creative concept is primordial to give music a language of its own.
Camerata Enkabara is an ensemble which plays in different formations; from two violins, string orchestra, piano accordion strings, to a small orchestra (with winds and percussion). Because of the diverse formations, Camerata Enkabara, is a fascinating and creative ensemble.

Chin Cheng Lin is known as the first marimba student at the renowned Royal Conservatorium Antwerp, where he graduated his master degree with the highest distinctions. He gained international recognition by winning the third prize at the prestigious International Marimba Competition Belgium. Praised for his outstanding musicality and remarkable presentation at the age of 19, he also received the Young Talent Prize. Successfully, Lin made his Belgian debut at the “Proloog” of Hogeschool Antwerp and his international debut at the International Percussion Festival Valencia, Spain. Lin also won numerous prizes at international music competitions such as: the 1st Prize at the European Soloist Competition in Birmingham, the 3rd Prize at the International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Poland, the 1st Prize marimba solo at the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod in Sydney, the 1st Prize marimba duo at the Australian Percussion Eisteddfod in Canberra, the talent prize at the Universal Marimba Duo Competition and others. Lin has presented young talent recitals in more than 20 countries. He is active in many international percussion festivals and European percussion days and he has taught at several music academies and universities. Lin released his debut album “Silk Road” and participated as a guest in several concert- and CD productions. Intensively collaborating with the Taipei Representative Office in Belgium and Europe, Lin received a “Culture Outstanding Award” for promoting the Taiwanese arts and he had the honor to perform for the Belgian Royal Family. Aside marimba playing, he has composed works for marimba and two music books for young performers. Lin won the 1st Prize at the Classical Marimba League International Composition Competition and the Originality Prize at the Universal Marimba Competition. His latest marimba concerto “One World, One Dream, One Love” & his marimba concertino “Stone Cave” will be premièred in 2009. As a Native Taiwanese percussionist, Lin started to play the piano at the age of 6, and he has studied violin, guitar and saxophone. He studied percussion with Huang Kun-Yan, Guo Guang-Yuan, Gary France, Vanessa Tomlinson, Kevin Man, Eric Sammut, Leo Ouderits and he specialized on marimba with the Belgian marimba virtuoso Ludwig Albert. Nowadays, Chin Cheng Lin is an endorser of Adams marimba and Resta mallets.

The guiding principle in this programme are the string quartets of W.A. Mozart, performed by the Fidelio String Quartet. Witness the evolution he undergoes under the influence of his great friend and mentor, Joseph Haydn. Naturally, as is to be expected of Warre Borgmans, the programme strikes a humoristic note more than once. He is a past master as a storyteller, and he even reveals his musical talents, unheard until now. He treats you to anecdotes, tall and short stories, letters, poetry, and deliberations on the relation between father and son.
Marc Matthys and the Fidelio String Quartet The ‘Crossover!’ Productions always have one central composer. Marc Matthys and the Fidelio String Quartet bring a fascinating mixture of classical music, jazz, film music and songs. They glide neatly from one genre into another. If need be, they can be joined by Marc Roosendans on bass and Tony Ghyselinck on drums. In short, here you have an ensemble of splendid musicians with a whole world of music for their luggage. We can offer two ‘Crossover!’ productions ‘Crossover Mozart’: music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Matthys, Toots Thielemans. Mozart 2006 con anima, the trio for piano by Marc Matthys that won the KLARA composition contest, will be performed by, amongst others, its composer. The music of Bach and Vivaldi, greatly admired by the aforementioned Mozart, also appears in this very charming production, ‘by kind permission of’. ‘Crossover Gershwin’: Gershwin is the leitmotiv in this perfect merger between classic and jazz. A meeting between American composers and their European contemporaries. Gershwin and Ravel for instance. Of course Porgy and Bess put in an appearance, but links are made as well between Cole Porter and South American contemporaries of his, like Astor Piazzolla. A plethora of extremely entertaining music, from solo to tutti, with background information to sketch the zeitgeist.

Greet De Keyser and the Fidelio String Quartet(in Dutch or English) The programme naturally focuses on the US as seen through the ‘great eyes’ (dixit G.W.Bush) of Greet De Keyser, who is still living in Washington DC. Like no other she can point out the similarities and the differences between the US and Belgium. And tell us how the Americans look upon our tiny country. Moreover, in the run-up to the presidency you will be able to grab some inside information. To cool the overwrought brain after so much information the Fidelio String Quartet and Marc Matthys (with or without jazz trio) treat you to a delightful American programme in which Scott Joplin, Cole Porter and Duke Ellington hold pride of place. A bubbling cauldron of classic, ragtime, jazz, Broadway and film music.
Anne Cambier and the Fidelio String Quartet The internationally acclaimed Belgian soprano Anne Cambier sings Mozart, accompanied by the FSQ. This ‘Mozart Dinner Concert ‘ serves little treasures from Mozart’s work. In between courses you will be treated to a divertimento, a quartet for strings and the most moving arias from The Magic Flute and from Don Giovanni.The same programme can be offered with other composers.

A felicitous meeting of sounds and strings from the Far East and our more familiar Western Europe. Not surprisingly, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. XWG plays the erhu, a two-stringed violin that rests on the thigh, is a traditional Chinese musical instrument. The programme features traditional Chinese music, a Japanese lullaby, film music and Western light classical music. Marvellous sounds, bound to pluck your heartstrings.

In the Norwegian pavilion of this culinary fair CaraMuse staged a programme with Edvard Grieg as the key figure. Small musical treasures, transcribed for string quartet. ‘In a hundred years’ time it will all be forgotten,’ Grieg allegedly said of his own music. In September 2007: Grieg died a century ago, but his music is more alive than ever!
